South Central Weed District – submitted by Ron Graham

South Central Weed District was formed in 1964. Located in South Central Manitoba, it is comprised of the municipalities of Victoria and South Norfolk and the communities of Holland, Cypress River, Treherne, Rathwell, and Lavenham. Agriculture is the mainstay of the area, with grain, oilseeds and potatoes being grown. Spruce Woods Provincial Park makes up a large part of Victoria and the Assiniboine River flows through both municipalities. Leafy Spurge is a real problem in this particular soil type and region.
